Introduction

The Department of Teacher Education was established in 1985 and was bifurcated into Secondary and Elementary Teacher Education Departments in July 2003. Its programmes aim at imparting academic and professional knowledge and training to in-services and pre service teachers and scholars.  The programmes/courses of this department comprise MA, MEd, BEd (4 Years, 1.5 year) and BS Instructional Design as academic and professional degree programmes. The department also offers MPhil and PhD in Education, which are aimed to prepare researchers and practitioners in the field of teacher education.

Objectives

1.        To prepare highly skilled leaderships in the field of teacher education

2.        To prepare the teachers from primary to higher level well conversant about their academic and professional knowledge, behaviour, and skills

3.       To build their capacity for using latest technology in their teaching learning process

4.       To enhance their capabilities for conducting research related to components of teacher education

Academic Facilities

Online teaching, students support services, workshops, face to face teaching, research, supervision, curriculum/courses development and teacher students meeting.

Dr Muhammad Ayub Buzdar

Associate Professor / Chairman
Won an HEC scholarship for MS/MPhil leading to PhD studies. He got his PhD in Education from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. He is a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship (2019-20) for post-doctoral research.
He completed his post-doctoral research at Northern Arizona University, USA. Dr. Buzdar’s research interests are in the cognitive and social aspects of educational psychology.
His research focuses on cross-cultural similarities and differences in students' cognitive and behavioral profiles. Various sociocultural components like religiosity, gender roles, and multiple inequalities in education are also his research subjects.
