Introduction

Department of Commerce is one of the pioneering academic departments of AIOU, established in 1975 to cater the needs of a wide range of people interested in the commercial field. Since its inception, thousands of commerce graduates have got the education and are serving the nation in different capacities as part of the country's trained workforce. The Department takes the privilege to offer I. Com Associate Degree in Commerce, BS (Accounting & Finance) and MCom. The Department is a part of the faculty of social sciences and humanities.

Objectives

Department of Commerce endeavors to embrace students' market-oriented knowledge to keep them abreast with new techniques and developments. The department offers skill-oriented academic programs in the Commerce discipline to fulfill the industry needs and deliver course contents in effective and innovative synchronous and asynchronous modes of teaching. Efforts are made to collaborate with professional organizations and business communities for students learning and grooming.
