Allama Iqbal Open University, Regional Centre Sheikhupura, established on 21 March 2019 (bifurcated from Lahore Region). Presently it is operating in rented building. Recently 5 kanal 15 Marla’s land is acquired for establishment/ construction of Campus of AIOU Sheikhupura for establishment of state of art building. Construction of campus has already been started in June 2022. This Regional Centre comprises two districts e. i.e., Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib. There are three tehsils in district Nankana Sahib (Tehsil Shah kot, Sanghla hill and Nankana) and five tehsils are in district Sheikhupura (Sharaq pur, Muridke, Safdrabad, Ferozwala, Sheikhupura).
There are 10 study centers and 18 examination centers. Total registered tutors 4935 in this region. Enrollment of the Region is 13,500. A mini library, with number of books for students. 09 facilitation centers are setup for guidance counseling in regional setup of Sheikhupura. Regional staff is rendering their best possible services to the students at their doorstep of this Region.
