Roman Porozov, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Cultural Studies, USPU (Yekaterinburg, Russia) and Safdar Rashid, Doctor of the Department of Urdu, AIOU (Islamabad, Pakistan) became guests of the radio station.

The first question that was asked by the radio station host Mr. Amer Raza was about Russian language – «Why shouldwe learn the Russian language». Roman Porozov noted that the Russian language is the language of great culture, knowledge of the language will intensify cultural ties, contribute mutual beneficial economic relations between Russia and Pakistan.

The participants of the program talked about Russian literature and cinema. The Pakistani colleagues asked about the traditions of Russian classic literature and its state in modern nationalculture, interaction between Soviet and modernRussian cinema.

The Pakistani colleagues wanted to clarify the division of Russian literature into the "Golden Age" and "Silver Age". In Pakistan, there are translations into Urdu of Russian classics.The names of F. Dostoevsky, L.Tolstoy, A.Chekhov, M. Gorky are well known. And Pakistan would like to promote the translation of Pakistani writers into Russian.

In a dialogue with the hosts of the program, Roman Porozov noted that Pakistan is a country with deep traditions. Russia and Pakistan are united by a common reception of values: society, family traditions, etc. Separately, the participants of the meeting mentioned the similarity of individual concepts and words at the lexical and phonetic levels. Roman Porozov expressed admiration for the diligence of Pakistani students in learning Russian and noted that most of them know several languages.

Roman Porozov spoke about the cultural and educational project dedicated to the Russian culture named " Культура.РФ" (https://www.culture.ru) as one of the virtual platforms of well-known Russian cultural institutions, which can be visited by citizens of Pakistan. The participants of the dialogue discussed possible joint cultural and educational projects to allow Pakistani colleagues to talk about their culture in Russia.

The Russian and Pakistani colleagues agreed to continue meetings in this format.
