Introduction
The Department of Shari'ah and Law,Faculty of Arabic & Islamic Studies is going to offer Ph.D Shari'ah program. This is the most important & significant program being offered by the Department. This program is reputed one of the best program in public sector universities of Pakistan. The graduates with Ph.D Shari'ah degree from AIOU will be serving on important academic, professional & administrative post in the colleges & Universities of Pakistan as well as foreign countries. This program requires 2 to 5 year's time for completion. The Department has the opportunity to hire the expertise of supervisors from almost all-Pakistani Public sector universities. After the completion of course works each student will be required to complete a research thesis under a qualified Ph.D supervisor appointed by the Board of Advance Studies & Research. LLM Shari'ah/MS Shari'ah degree will be awarded after the evaluation of the thesis by the foriegn experts and successfully defense of viva voce. This program has been designed to carried out research in different fields of Shari'ah. This program will provide to the scholars opportunity of exercising independent critical judgement through the research skills for the service of Islamic & Muslim communities.
Eligibility Criteria
LLM Shariah and Law at least in first division (60%) or CGPA 3.00 or equivalent.OR
MS Shariah at least in first division (60%) or CGPA 3.00 or equivalent OR
LLM Shariah at least in first division (60%) or CGPA 3.00 or equivalent.
Witten Test and interview will be conducted by the Department Concerned based on 60% passing marks.
Selection Process
Selection of the candidates will be made strictly on the basis of merit/criteria laid down by the Department/ University.

Teaching Methodology
The University allots Study Centre and Tutors for the Students to get guideline accordingly. A student has to secure passing marks in Assignments as well as in final exams to successfully complete concerned Educational Programme.
