Introduction
Ph.D. in Education with specialization in Elementary Teacher Education (M.Phil. Based PhD Program) is designed to develop advanced research skills and expertise in the field of elementary teacher education. This program equips scholars with the knowledge and abilities needed to critically analyze, innovate, and contribute to educational practices and policies at national and international levels. It provides a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of education through rigorous coursework and in-depth research.
Objectives of the Program
The objectives of the program are given below:
- To develop advanced research skills of PhD scholars for improving elementary teacher education.
- To enhance the ability of PhD scholars to critically analyze and address challenges in elementary education.
- To promote innovative teaching and learning strategies in of PhD scholars for elementary-level classrooms.
- To prepare scholars for leadership roles in advancing elementary teacher education practices.
- To contribute to policy and practice reforms in elementary teacher education through evidence-based research.

Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate holding M.Phil. or equivalent with GPA 3.00/1st Division in 30 credit hours will be eligible for admission in Ph.D. Program.
- Departmental Subject based test with a least 60% score
- Candidate will apply for admission on prescribed form to the concerned Chairman of the department. If the candidate wishes to apply in more than one specialization, he/she has to apply separately for each specialization.
- Admission will be strictly on merit and on approved criteria.
