Intercultural dialogue: USPU students met with students fromAllama Iqbal Open University
On September 27, meeting between Institute of Foreign Languages, Ural State Pedagogical University (Yekaterinburg, Russia) andcolleaguesfrom Allama Iqbal Open University(Islamabad, Pakistan)took place in the teleconference mode.
The meeting was moderated by the Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages Daria Starkova.
At the beginning of the meeting, students from Allama Iqbal Open University, together with teachers of USPUCenter for Open Education (COE) Natalya Zavyalova and Roman Porozov, sang the anthem of the Russian Federation, read poems and countinggames that they learned during Russian language courses.
Students of USPU Institute of Foreign Languages told Pakistani students about the most famous museums in Russia and introduced the key sights of Yekaterinburg: Plotinka (The City Dam) and Historical square, the Sevastyanov House, the Kharitonov Palace, the Temple on Blood, the Yeltsin Center and others.
Pakistani colleagues asked a lot of questions about the culture of Russia, university educational programs, and mechanisms of admission.
At the end of the meeting, Roman Porozov and Natalya Zavyalova shared their impressions of their stay in Pakistan, expressing admiration for the hospitality of Islamabad residents and historical sights.
The participants of the meeting agreed to continue the intercultural dialogue in this format!
