Region History

Allama Iqbal Open University, Regional Campus, Hyderabad was established on 7th April 1980 for the provision of educational support in all Sindh except Karachi. The Region provides the tutorial support to the viable group of students, organizing the workshops especially the teachers’ training courses and also conducting of final Examinations. RC Hyderabad provides facilities of help desk and regional library is available with sufficient number of books. Enrollment of RC Hyderabad as per semester spring 2022 is 3651 and 223 tutors 05 PTRCs are associated with RC Hyderabad and 08 examination centers are established under Regional Campus.

The Allama Iqbal Open University was established in May, 1974, with the main objectives of providing educational opportunities to masses and to those who cannot leave their homes and jobs. During all these past years, the University has more than fulfilled this promise.
