Education
Dr Abbas holds two doctoral degrees; first PhD in English Linguistics is from University of Management and Technology while his second PhDin Applied Linguistics is from University Utara Malaysia. Dr Abbas understands the importance of both Literature and Linguistics in this global era as he has MPhil degrees both in English Literature and Applied Linguistics to his credit. Prior to that, he completed his Masters in English language and literature from Government University Faisalabad.

Experience
Dr Abbas has been associated with academia, research, and training for more than a decade. He has remained associated as an academician with prestigious universities like University of Punjab Lahore, University of Management and Technology Lahore, NUML Lahore Campus, University of Education Township Lahore, University of Lahore (Both Lahore and Sargodha Campuses) and University of Okara. He has also been associated with training of university faculty and corporate sector in the areas of communication, team building and data analysis for decision facilitations. With reference to corporate sector commitments, he has been engaged with Lahore Institute of Future Education Lahore, British Council, US Consulate, Intellectual Edge Consultancy, Malaysia etc. Language proficiency trainings conducted by Dr Abbas include intensive crash programs to equip learners with requisite skills to excel IELTS and TOEFL tests. The professional and corporate training focuses on effective communication, life skills, employability, team building and critical thinking.
Project, Research Interests
The diverse cultural groups from Pakistan, Malaysia, and Thailand with whom Dr Abbas has worked with, has helped him command the differences of group dynamics. He has been engaged in projects of faculty development on topics such as research skills, data analysis and different psychological aspects of life. His research interests include Language Maintenance and Shift, Language Planning and Policy, English Language Teaching Methodologies, Language documentation and other aspects of Applied Linguistics. To sum up, Dr Abbas believes in life-long learning and that’s why he has accomplished academic excellence by completing two doctoral degrees and has been widely engaged in all sorts of academic and corporate research as well as training.
