Introduction

The ADE based B. Ed (4Years) Distance and Non-formal Education program gives prospective teachers the flexibility to study from the 5th semester after completing their Associate Degree in Education (ADE). This program is focused upon the needs of the prospective teachers who were imparted desired professional knowledge, values and training in the subjects offered in the ADE program while allowing them to gain subject specific knowledge, field experience, practical training and content breadth to enable prospective teachers to creatively contribute to the social, cultural, and educational development of a globally oriented diverse society. This program focuses on training of highly proficient teaching workforce oriented with required pedagogical and andragogical knowledge and skills to play a constructive role in education and society.

CREDIT HOURS WISE BREAKUP

Total Credit Hours (CH): 69

  • Major: 48 CH with following breakup:
  1. Specialization Courses (SC): 18 CH
  2. Content Courses (CC): 30 CH
  • Interdisciplinary/allied Courses (IDC): 12 CH
  • Capstone Project (CP): 3 CH
  • Field Experience/ Internship (FE/I): 6 CH

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum entry requirement for admission is an Associate Degree in Education (ADE) or equivalent with at least 50% marks.

CONTENT CLUSTERS

  • A Content cluster is a set of 5 courses having 4 content courses and a pedagogy. These 5 courses must be completed in the 5th, 6th, and 7th semester according to the scheme of studies.
  • A student has to select any two Content clusters as (C1 & C2) in the 5th semester from the list of clusters given below. The Content clusters once chosen in the 5th semester as C1 & C2 cannot be changed in the 6th and 7th semester. Therefore, courses of the same clusters will continue in 6th and 7th semester.

Workshop
